Menu Options – Quick Reference

This page is applicable to the following Vavoom! series:

  • Magic Beds
  • Magic Chaise
  • Cuddle Rugs
  • Dog Houses
  • Poser for Dogs

This is a quick reference for the menu options on the Vavoom! Magic Beds, Chaise, Cuddle Rugs, Dog Houses and Poser for Dogs. I have used the word “bed” throughout this document, but in most cases (except where specifically indicated), the words Chaise, Rug, Dog House or Poser could be substituted for the word bed.

When you touch the bed it will show you the Main Menu. This will have a list of dogs that are in range (20 metres) of the bed plus the Options button which will be at the bottom left corner of the Menu. When you choose a dog’s name from the Main Menu, the dog will get onto the bed and lie down at the exact spot that you touched.

The Main Menu will not show the names of dogs that are already on the bed. It assumes that they are already comfortably snoozing in the right place. If you wish to get the dog to go to a different position on the bed, you could call him to you and touch the bed at the place you want him to go.  You could also choose Wake Up from the menu and then choose a new place on the bed for him.

.

Options Button
Opens the Options Menu to show the buttons that you may use to configure how your Vavoom! Bed/Chaise/Rug/Dog House will behave.

.

Choose Pose
Opens the Choose Pose Menu which allows you to select the pose that the dog does when he goes to sleep. The options are:

  • Rest – this is the default
  • Bang (Right) – Lies down on his right side
  • Bang (Left) – Lies down on his left side
  • Sit
  • Down
  • Bellyup

The current pose is displayed above the buttons in the blue Dialog Menu, for example:

Pose is: rest

.

Main Menu
Returns you to the list of dogs that are in range of the bed. The Options button is always shown on the bottom left of the menu.  (The WAKE UP and ALL DOGS buttons are also shown if appropriate.)

.

Cancel
Where possible, use this button instead of ignore. It reduces lag by quickly putting the Bed/Rug/Dog House into a standby mode.

.

Passive On / Passive Off
The Vavoom! Magic Beds/Rugs/Dog Houses etc. are designed to tell your dog to be passive when he lies down. This is so that he will stay there once you send him to bed. Using the “Passive On” and “Passive Off” buttons you can control whether the Bed/Rug/Dog House tells your dog to be passive or not.

The current setting for passive is displayed above the buttons in the blue Dialog Menu, for example:

Passive is: On

If passive is set to On, the bed tells every dog that gets onto it to be passive. You do not need to choose this option every time you send a dog to bed.

(If the dogs that get onto the bed are not owned by the owner of the bed, they will ignore the instruction to be passive. The owner or a person “friended” to them will need to tell them to be passive. The beds cannot give this instruction to someone else’s dog.)

.

Help
Gives you the the Menu Options – Quick Reference Notecard. If the Notecard is not available for some reason, the bed will attempt to open this page instead.

.

WAKE UP
This option is always at the top left position in the Options Menu. It is also displayed in the Main Menu when there is a dog already on the bed. If there are several dogs on the bed, there will be a WAKE ALL option in the Wake Up menu that follows. But if there is only one dog on the bed, the bed will realise and wake him up automatically.

When the bed wakes the dogs up, it sends them to greet you and tells them to be active.

(Dogs that belong to someone other than the owner of the bed will ignore the instruction to be active. Active and passive may only be given by the owner or  someone that is “friended” to the dog. The beds cannot give this instruction to someone else’s dog.)

.

Colours
This menu option only appears in some of the more recent Vavoom! beds, for example the Wicker Bed series that was released in Februaryr 2010. When you choose this option, a new menu is displayed with buttons for the available colours/textures for the bed.

.

Advanced
Brings up the “Advanced” (owner only) sub- menu.

Owner Only
Switches the bed to owner only mode, so that only the owner may use it.

Anyone
Removes owner only mode, anyone may click on the bed to use it.

.

Options for Multi-Dog Beds and Houses only

Save Bed
When you have got all your dogs sleeping comfortably on the bed, use this button to tell the bed to remember all their positions for the next time.

When you have saved the bed like this, each dog will always go to the same place on the bed when you choose their name from the menu, no matter where on the bed you touch.

The ALL DOGS button will become visible in the Main Menu once you have used the Save Bed Option.

(This option will only work for the owner of the bed. If it is chosen by anyone else, the bed will politely inform them that it is not possible for them to do this. This is done so that no one else can overwrite the positions that you saved for your dogs.)

.

List Saved
This option will display a Menu with the name of each dog that has a sleeping position saved in the bed.

.

Delete Save
Use this option to remove ALL the saved sleeping positions and start back from scratch. After you choose (and confirm) this option, your dog will go to the exact spot on the bed that you touch.

(This option will only work for the owner of the bed. If it is chosen by anyone else, the bed will politely inform them that it is not possible for them to do this. This is done so that no one else can delete the positions that you saved for your dogs.)

.

ALL DOGS
This option is displayed after you have saved the sleeping positions. Choosing this option will send each of the dogs that has a saved sleeping position to bed, if they are not already on the bed.

.

Please Remember:
The Bed/Rug/Dog House/Chaise/Poser can only tell dogs that you own to be passive or active. It cannot tell other dogs even if they are “friended” to you.
